Overview
Before drawing, pick a canvas background and set scale so measurements are accurate. Choose during the setup wizard or change later in the Canvas panel.
Where in the app: Fence estimate setup → Select Canvas, or designer → Canvas tab

Canvas types
| Type | Use when |

| Google Map | You have a jobsite address and want satellite imagery |
| Blueprint | You have a survey, site plan, or architect drawing (JPG, PNG, TIFF, or PDF) |
| Blank Canvas | Quick sketch with no background image |

In the designer Canvas panel: Google Map, Blueprint, Blank Canvas.
Switching canvas type with objects on the canvas prompts to clear the canvas.
Google Map
- Open the Canvas tab
- Choose Google Map
- Search the property address; pan and zoom
- Click Capture Map (desktop toolbar or mobile Capture Map & Start Drawing)
- Draw on the captured image
Toggle Satellite / Map on mobile before capture if needed.
Blueprint
- Choose Blueprint
- Click Upload Blueprint (JPG/PNG/TIFF or PDF)
- Update Scale: draw a line over a known dimension on the plan, enter the real-world length, confirm
- Optional: Rotate, Transparency
- Draw fence sections on top
Accurate scale is required for correct takeoffs.
Blank Canvas
Choose Blank Canvas for a white workspace. A default scale applies; switch Imperial / Metric on the lower toolbar as needed.
Units
Toggle Imperial (feet) or Metric (meters) on the lower toolbar. All lengths, spacing, and gate sizes follow the active unit system.
