Overview
Labor calculates installation labor cost from crew settings, rates, and time adjustments. Use this step when the estimate scope is Materials and Installation.
Where in the app: Open an estimate → Labor (proposal step bar)
Open: Estimates
Materials Only
If the estimate is Materials Only, Labor is read-only. Switch to Materials and Installation on the Materials step to edit rates and hours.
Rate modes
| Mode | What you set |

| By Hour | Crew size and average hourly cost |
| By Piece Rate | Piece rate per foot, plus optional dollar adjustment |
Time Adjustment lets you add or remove hours from the calculated total.
Travel and prep
Under Travel and Prep Time per Day, set:
- Working day length
- Prep time
- Travel time
These feed the Labor Calculations summary (days, hours, and Total Labor).
