Costing defaults control how purchase costs flow into inventory valuation when the inventory module is enabled.
Where in the app: Business Settings → Default Values → Costing
Open: Costing
Uses a separate Save button on this subtab.
Settings
| Setting | Purpose |

| Enable Landed Costs | Track shipping, duties, and fees on purchase orders |
| Default Cost Basis | Raw Vendor Cost or Landed Cost (when landed costs enabled) |
| Default Allocation Method | Split landed costs by line value, by quantity, or equal split |
Landed cost settings affect how received inventory updates component costs in the catalog.
