Overview
Follow this order to get Dirt Face fully configured. It matches the Setup Checklist on your Dashboard Overview tab.
When all three phases are complete, you are ready to use the system end to end — estimates, jobs, scheduling, and billing.
Phase 1: Business Settings
Open Business Settings and complete each tab you need before importing catalog data.
Company Info
- Business name, logo, address, and contact details
- Company info guide
Manage Team
- Invite estimators, office staff, and admins
- Set roles and permissions
- Team members · Crews (if scheduling)
Sales Tax
- Configure tax rates and rules for quotes and invoices
- Sales tax
Default Values
Review and set defaults so every quote and job starts with your numbers:

Phase 2: Import components
Import your parts catalog with the Smart Import Tool — the recommended way to populate My Components.
- Open Smart Import Tool
- Upload vendor price lists or catalogs (PDF, CSV, Excel)
- Review matched components and confirm pricing

Phase 3: Fence templates
Build templates in My Fences so the designer and estimates use your fence types, posts, gates, and assemblies.
- Open My Fences
- Create or duplicate a fence template
- Configure posts, components, gates, and time
You're ready
With Business Settings complete, components imported, and templates in place, you can:
- Create estimates and send proposals
- Convert wins to jobs and schedule crews
- Bill with invoices (and connected integrations)
