Overview
Dirt Face runs in the browser — there is no separate app store install required. Crew Portal is built mobile-first for installers; the office dashboard works on tablet and phone but is easiest on desktop for estimating and admin work.

The office UI is responsive. Complex screens (designer, Smart Import, inventory reports) need more screen space — use tablet landscape or laptop when possible.
Add the site to your home screen for faster access:
- iOS Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen
- Android Chrome: Menu → Install app or Add to Home screen
Crew users (field installers)
Crew accounts should use phones or tablets in the field.
After login, crew users land on My Schedule — not the office sidebar.

Connection indicator (crew portal)
The header shows online/offline status. Some actions queue when connectivity is poor and sync when back online. If updates fail repeatedly, toggle airplane mode off/on or move to stronger signal before retrying.
Office staff review crew submissions from Schedule → Review queue.
Tablet tips for on-site estimating
When quoting at the jobsite on iPad or Android tablet:
- Complete Business Settings and catalog setup before field use
- Use landscape mode for the fence designer
- Confirm job site address on the customer so the map centers correctly
- Take site photos in Opportunities or customer Activities for office follow-up
Walkthrough: Your first estimate
Login issues on mobile
- Use the same email/password as desktop
- Crew users must have the Crew role — see Login and account issues
- Clear Safari/Chrome cache if an old session loops on login
What is not optimized for phone
These are best on desktop or large tablet:
- Smart Import and bulk catalog edits
- Inventory operations and reports
- Shop Drawing Designer canvas
- Multi-tab Business Settings configuration
Use a laptop for initial setup, then mobile for day-to-day crew and light office tasks.
