Overview
This guide walks from a blank or imported shop drawing through PDF export. Use it for standalone install detail sheets or drawings you will attach to an estimate.
For bird's-eye site layout and takeoffs, use the fence design tool on the estimate first when needed.
Start: Shop Drawings
Step 1: Create or import
| Path | Steps |
|---|---|
| New drawing | Create New → Shop Drawing Designer → draw elevations and details → save |
| System template | Import from System Library → preview → confirm import → workspace |
| From estimate | Proposal Documents → Add shop drawings → pick or create |
Confirm default paper size in Drawing Preferences if you print on a fixed sheet size.
Step 2: Draw details and elevations
Open Edit Drawing (or Create Drawing) on the workspace to add section views, component symbols, dimensions, and callouts in the designer. Save and return to the workspace thumbnail.
Step 3: Finish the sheet
In the workspace:
- Edit Specs for install details (or link a fence template to auto-load rows).
- Edit Drawing Info for title block fields.
- Confirm business info appears correctly on the sheet.
Save frequently. Use Save As if you need a variant for another job.
Step 4: Export PDF
Click Print / PDF on the workspace toolbar. Use the browser print dialog to save as PDF or send to a printer. Check scale and margins match your paper size before sharing.
Step 5: Share with the job
| Destination | How |

| Estimate proposal | Attach to Estimate or add from Proposal Documents |
