Create an Opportunity

Add a new opportunity by selecting a customer and filling in site, reference, and service details.

Overview

Create an opportunity when a lead is worth tracking before you invest time in a full fence estimate. You must link a customer first, then enter jobsite, reference, and scheduling preferences.

Where in the app: Sidebar → Opportunities → New Opportunity
Open: New Opportunity

Also: Create menu → Opportunity.


Step 1: Select or add a customer

  1. Open New Opportunity.
  2. In Select or Add New Customer, search for an existing customer or open Create a New Customer.
  3. Select the customer to unlock the opportunity form.

Every opportunity requires a customer record. See Add a customer for field details.


Step 2: Job site address

Pick the address for this project from the customer's saved addresses (Job Site, Billing, or Shipping).

At least one address must be selected before save.


Step 3: Opportunity reference

Step 5: Files (new opportunities only)

Upload photos, plans, or other documents on the Files section before first save. After save, manage files on the detail page Files tab.


Save and convert

Use the Save & ... menu (bottom right):

On the detail page edit mode, the menu shows Update Opportunity instead of Save Opportunity. Convert to Quote from Save & ... is only on the initial create flow.


Validation

Dirt Face prompts when required fields are missing:

  • Customer not selected
  • No jobsite address selected
  • Reference Name empty
  • Visit required but no Preferred Arrival Time selected
