Overview
Vendor Preferences on the Vendor Management page lists master-catalog suppliers you want Dirt Face to use when imported parts land in My Components. When you import fence templates or Dirt Face Warehouse components, the primary preference vendor is attached automatically so you do not assign vendors one part at a time.
Where in the app: Sidebar → Fence → Vendor Management (top of page, below the header)
Open: Vendor Management
The section appears only when master-catalog vendors are available for your account.
How preferences work
| Concept | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Preference list | Vendors you choose from the master catalog |
| Primary vendor | Star badge; first vendor added becomes primary unless you change it |
| Auto-assignment | Applied on template import and warehouse component import |
| Lazy upgrade | Adding a preference may link existing components to the master catalog and add vendor rows |
Primary vendor is the default supplier Dirt Face tries first when new imported parts need a vendor line.
Add a preference vendor
- Open Vendor Management.
- In Vendor Preferences, click Add Vendor.
- Select a vendor from the dropdown (master-catalog list).
- Dirt Face saves immediately.
The first vendor you add becomes primary. Add more vendors if you buy from several master-catalog suppliers.
Change primary or remove a vendor
- Click the star on a non-primary vendor to make it primary.
- Click X on a badge to remove that vendor from preferences. If you remove the primary, the next vendor in the list becomes primary.
When to set preferences
Set preferences before you:
- Import Fence Templates
- Pull parts from Dirt Face Warehouse
If you skip preferences, imported parts may only have System Vendor until you assign real suppliers manually or with the Vendor Assignment Tool.
