Overview
Fence jobs linked to an estimate carry a material list from the quote. The Materials tab lets you adjust quantities and costs for field reality, sync to inventory, and fulfill from stock.
Requires a fence quote on the job. Inventory features require the inventory integration enabled on your plan.

Material list on the job
The tab reuses the proposal material list editor:
- View auto-calculated quantities from the fence design
- Add manual line items
- Change vendor, part number, or unit cost for this job only
- Save changes to the job record
Warning: After schedule events exist, editing materials may prompt a warning — coordinate changes with the crew and sales order.
You can optionally push cost changes back to the component library when saving.
Sales orders
When inventory is enabled, creating a job with Create a sales order generates a draft Sales Order (SO) from the material list.
| SO status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Not yet committed; edit warehouse and lines |
| Open | Committed; stock can be reserved |
| Partially Fulfilled | Some lines picked or shipped |
| Fulfilled | All lines complete |
| Closed / Cancelled | No further fulfillment |
The job header shows the linked SO number and status badge.
Common actions on Materials tab

| Select warehouse | Where stock will be pulled from (draft SO) |
| Check availability | Compare required qty to on-hand and on-order |
| Reserve materials | Hold stock for this job |
| Create purchase order | Order short items from a vendor |
Shortages show a red count badge on the Materials tab and on the jobs list row.

Jobs list shortage badge
A red package icon on a job row means the linked sales order has lines with insufficient available stock. Open the job Materials tab to review and order or reserve.
Supply-only jobs
Jobs without a fence quote do not show the Materials tab. Line items on Job info still describe products and services for invoicing.
